I think the new proposal is how the regulations should have been in the first place. As a bear guide it is alot of extra work to get baits, stands, and hunters 200+meters off a road in Northwestern ontario's dense bush. Not to mention the difficulty of retrieving a bear that can weigh as much as 600lbs.
We are not allowed to cut trails, so we sre basically hand cuffed to carrying things in by hand.
