We own a former church that we wish to convert into our home. There is zero reason to suspect environmental contamination. And, yet, under current legislation we are required to submit a Record of Site Condition, which causes significant delays in obtaining a building permit and will cost an estimated $15,000.00.
We would very much welcome the change to O. Reg. 153/04 (Record of Site Condition) that would make it possible for us to obtain a building permit without having to undergo a time consuming, and costly procedure, that serves no useful purpose.
