The advantages of permitting motorcyclists on HOV
- Lower risk of getting rear ended, side swiped in traffic
- Less exhaustion from heat. Many motorcycles are air cooled, and they generate heat that dissipates onto the rider
- Eliminate wastage of fuel waiting in traffic
- Less traffic. Attract more people to ride motorcycle thereby reducing traffic, and pollution
- Better use of road space
