As a citizen of Toronto, living within earshot of three giant highrise projects, I would like to express my opposition to the re-instatement of any form of the OMB , such as Bill 108. The solution to providing affordable housing is not to give developers sweeping powers to build huge, hulking towers on any existing space.Toronto will not be well served by the destruction of the character of its beautiful neighbourhoods.Our city needs thoughtful planning which takes into account the needs of its citizens as well as the requirements of developers.Re-instatement of a body with the unregulated powers of the OMB would be a mistake for which Toronto and Ontario residents will pay dearly in the future.
