This permit should NOT be issued. In the wake of all the well interference complaints surfacing, more and more every day . An independent body needs to do a cumulative impact study on the pits overall operations as well as water take and processing at the wash pond . The hydrogeologist Paid for by the pit operators and the representatives from the MOECC and MNRF were very quick to point the finger at Poor Well Construction . It has come to light recently that there are new wells that are experiencing the same interference as well . I personally have been told by MOECC staff that "removing the hill could not effect the water table ever!" , but refused to put it in writing . Another said when asked why no one is experiencing these problems in the dead of winter "that is because the ground is frozen" and when asked to clarify that statement did a lot of backtracking , then quickly change the subject. Last I checked around here the frost only goes into the ground about 4 feet and the wells are much deeper than that! [Original Comment ID: 212255]
