The proposed changes to the ESA will do nothing to help ensure the survival of endangered species. We need to limit the opportunities for political interference. Decisions have to be made based on what is best for the health of our planet, not developer interests. Allowing violators to pay a fee in lieu of following the rules will just become permission for developers to run roughshod over the protections that are in place and shrug in apology afterwards. This is a huge step backwards and must be reconsidered.
