It is clear that climate change, industry and urban expansion are taking an extreme toll
on the survival of wildlife species. It is a crisis and we must do all we can to help ensure wildlife's surivial.
To remove safeguard and amend Ontario’s Endangered Species Act to fit the needs of industry and business concerns, especially at this time is an ill concieved idea that I hope will be reconsidered. The protections granted within this act are necessary and do not infringe on human's ability to seek economic progress. We as humans need to respect nature and it's species. They are after all one of our countries defining cultural features.
In light of this, I would like to ask the Ontario government to remove Schedule 5 from Bill 108. Protecting wildlife and it's habitat is good for the economy, our natural ecosystem and keeps our native species from extinction. It's a must and selling out wildlife to big business is not a good strategy in either the short or long term. Thank you for your attention and consideration on this matter.
