During our last federal election and governments all over the globe are discussing to reduce Co2 emissions. We are thinking of giving Colacem Canada the go ahead to build this cement plant that will be one of the worst industry to pollute our environment. Burning petcoke out of a 410 feet (125 meters) chimney that will spread contaminants at a 15 km radius on a windless day. 1.09 Million tons of carbon per year, not mentioning all the cancer inducing chemicals that will mix with our already damaged atmosphere. 80 to 100 smoking diesel trucks per hour will be adding to further our dilemma. The loss of property value of up to 25% according to the Ontario Municipal Property Assessment Corporation. The benefits of having this industry in our surroundings is none compared to the long term detrimental effects that this will have on the environment our health and future children. Of course none of the above owners will be exposed to this environment that they wish to impose on our community. And it all comes down to make more money for the people that don't really need any.
