This area cannot absorbe any more pollution and keep its beauty. I see the daily film of what I do not really want to know about on my car, and know I am breathing this in. We have also the noise pollution from Ivaco, and too many large trucks on the highway already. As they pass, it takes a few minutes to rid the diesel smell. With the quantity of trucks that will be needed to transport product, there will never be relief from the stench, let alone the pollution This is a lovely residential, agricultural area. We need to protect what is left. I no longer make a garden, as I am not sure of the quality of produce I can grow. I have great concern that additional industry in the area will open up the door to even more industry coming in. I am very concerned about this, as you should be. There will be many trucks every hour, every day. With the inevitable accidents, ice storms, snowstorms etc., the potential for idling vehicles trapped in traffic for hours is high. This, for the 100 K to Montreal. Back and forth. For years to come. Any trips I will have to make to go to Montreal will be in a convoy of diesel. Not good. Commuters will have a hell of a time to pass over the only two bridges available to Montreal. Bridges are already clogged at rush hours. So please understand and take into consideration the consequences not only to us here in L'Orignal, but the entire area to Montreal. Montreal cannot handle the traffic problems it has now. How will that be when that many trucks arrive daily? The pollution will affect all. I know you have the information as to which pollutants we will be exposed to and the health challenges it would give us, no need for me to explain. What also concerns me is the water, the earth, and all the wild life that have no defence against this. Delays in not being able to get product into the convoys could also mean plant shutdowns. Very costly.
