Our recent search for a rural property with acreage and hopefully a stream has made us aware of what appears to be overreach by conservation authorities related to 'watersheds'. I am pleased to see efforts are being made through this Bill to introduce oversight and regulation of these groups. Only 15% of Ontario land is in private hands, far too little in my opinion. Owners love and care for their land. They may make changes but rarely try to harm their land and water. I have respect for citizen/owners and do not feel that only 'experts' can manage Ontario's land and water. Turning Ontario into a giant swamp under the auspices of protecting watersheds is not good management in my opinion.
