I was approached years ago about workers safety by mnr and we all came into agreement regarding the bear baits. We went out with the logging foreman and mnr to mark and waypoint all bait sites. The logging company agreed to leave mature trees for tree stands and all was good they cut everything else. If 200 meters is put in place we will be hunting in the middle of a clear cut. It doesn’t seem safe. It is also a far walk out in the dark for the hunters. In northwestern Ontario 200 meters is a long way to go in the dense bush. Now the safety of the hunters and me doing the baiting is not a problem I guess 200 meters is way to far.
