This makes too much sense. Thank you to whoever put this forward in the MNRF.

200 meters is very unreasonable. My husband and his hunting partner are not getting any younger and I get really concerned about them carrying bait 200 meters in the woods. Not to mention if they actually get a bear, they have to carry it a long long way to get it to the truck. I know he was also saying there are lots of areas which are very remote but he can no long hunt because he can't find a baiting area that is not 200 meters from any roadway or trail.

With all the associated legislation of cleaning the bait site, etc. 30 meters is very safe, reasonable and fair.

I remember helping him bait a number of years ago and his site was 100 meters from the roadway and I thought that was too far.

Again - thank you for bringing this forward and I truly hope it passes.
