This bill seems to be favouring developers over the municipalities that are trying to maintain the heritage of their communities. As massive developments move into areas in larger and larger numbers, especially where I am in Durham region, we are likely to lose heritage resources that make a f the fabric of our community if buildings are not able to be properly assessed and protected by the communities they reside in. Much like other areas of reform from this government consultation is not being done adequately with the other agencies in order to pass bills. While other consultations are being done in excess when trying g to overturn previously planned initiatives by previous government, like to go transit expansion. Either consult on everything or try and make existing plans work that have already gone through consulting processes.
