Bill 108 will negatively impact heritage buildings and limits the ability to designate properties in order to protect these valuable and irreplaceable places. Already, many properties have been lost to demolition without regard to the value that heritage properties bring to a city. We need to protect heritage homes, not make it more difficult to designate them/preserve them.
This bill did not properly consult with heritage groups about how their work would be impacted, and therefore the bill is severely flawed. Please do not pass bill 108. It hurts our collective heritage.
