I congratulate the Minister for responding in a positive manner to concerns raised by the hunting public and outfitters across Ontario. The current bait placement regulations are unclear and overly restrictive. Reducing the distance to 30 meters will make placement of baits easier for the general public and outfitters. Thirty meters is a reasonable distance that will meet the intent of the regulation to remove baits from the public view and keep them at a safe distance.
