There is no remark made about the safety of this proposal. I think it is dangerous.
Getting bears to come close to roads and trails sounds like if it is inciting bear-people contact. Like you don't leave your garbage out where there are bears if you don't want trouble with them. 200 m is a reasonable distance.
Also, now that hunting will take place near trails, you increase the likelihood of hikers being killed. This is irresponsible. It's like increasing the speeds on our highways. It kills people, and it looks pretty deliberate.
This is crazy, this proposal is mad and it will also increase the number of hunters participating in this hunt and therefore the number of bears killed will increase. This government proposing this shows it is out of control.
Even hunters, real hunters don't like such proposal because hunting from roads isn't seen as real hunting as hunters don't even have to go into the woods anymore to hunt. Accommodating lazy hunters will make all hunters this much more disliked and will go a long way to help reduce the number of people who want to take part in such activities as it is an embarrassment to what real hunters think of hunting.
Because this proposed activity is dangerous, I feel that someone must take responsibility for this decision. Who will be sued for the resulting loss of life? This proposal is abominable. Stop this.
