I am always amazed at the lack of common sense in regards to wildlife management especially in Ontario.
To reduce the distance from where other recreational users could be harmed is nothing short of criminal. If a hunter is too lazy to walk at least 200 m to set up a shooting stand (this is shooting not hunting) then they shouldn't be in the bush.
Even 200 m from other recreational forest users is insufficient in my opinion.
All high powered rifles can be dangerous with over 4.5 km (3 miles).
As a hunter in Ontario for over 50 years and quite familiar with ballistics as well I find it incredulous that this change would even be considered.
I would like to know why this is even being considered as a worthwhile proposal.
