I strongly object; the wilderness of Ontario is used by many who prefer not to cause damage. The bears are not dangerous; hiking and recreating near where bear hunting happens is dangerous. If Ontario allows this, neither people nor bears will ever be safe again. I cannot understand why bear hunting is allowed at all in this day and age or what gives a certain segment of the population the right to destroy life when all evidence points to the necessity of caring for our planet and all creatures who dwell on it. I am not a bleeding heart, but a person who teaches bear education and understands these magnificent animals who have every right to coexist with humans.
