Reducing the minimum distance for bear bait from 200 metres to 30 metres from rights of way for traffic and recreational trails significantly increases the possibility of a very dangerous situation: a non-hunting recreational user accidentally alarming a mother bear with cubs, or any other bear too, of course. It also brings bears into closer proximity with roadways and trails with the increased possibility of running into one. This is a very bad idea!
