Sirs: regarding the proposal to reduce placement of bait from rights of way trails and roads, etc:
I am not anti hunting, but I do walk those trails a lot in my area, and would have concerns for two reasons: the baits attract the bears in unusual numbers closer to where the public may be walking (including ATV trails and logging roads), and I recall earlier years living in another part of Ontario where the health unit nurses were nervous to drive to clients during hunt season because of flying bullets as it was. Those powerful guns can push a bullet a long way! I disagree with this change to closer to trails for convenience, since the atvs can access all corners of the woods as it is. If you insist on passing this, please make an addition that it is mandatory to post Caution: bear-baiting area signs every x number of feet around the area so anyone else will know the dangers.
