First off I think bear hunting should be stopped altogether. Hunters always take the healthiest animal they can find unlike natural predators. This in no way is good natural resource management.
To reduce the allowance is baffling to me. I Grew up with hunters and any half decent hunter knows what 200 meters looks like. To call it vague is ridiculous. Reducing the allowance will only create more circumstances of human bear conflict. I can’t imagine a world where this makes sense. The only people that have a problem are going to be those people who want more opportunities to kill without looking at any repercussions. I cannot believe tax dollars are even being used to explore this as an option.
