Please do not swap lakefront parcels of land to the town for future private home development. Local politicians refer to “orphaned” parcels of Provincial Park lakefront property that they would like to swap with the Provincial Park for town owned property. These lakefront “orphaned” properties are home to birds and other wildlife and plants. If swapped to the town they would be sold to private owners,, cleared and be lost for all future generations. The original Patks’s vision was to keep this world class beautiful place for all to enjoy. Please do not allow short sighted local politicians desire for tax revenue to block access to more of Georgian Bay. There are already people here putting fences into the water and claiming the entire beach. With the current high water levels more private development of currently owned provincial park lands would be a costly mistake in every way.
