The most important part of our housing plan is environmental sustainability. Every new home needs to be built with a zero emissions design: less heating and cooling due to top notch insulation. It’s not too expensive if the homes are not built too big.
People live in small homes all over the world. Ontarians don’t need their homes to be cheap just so they can make them big. They need to be well built, and size is a reasonable trade off.
It’s not ethical for the building code to be set so low that people can build big homes and claim environmental efficiency is “too expensive “.
