I support the extension of s.55 of the ESA regulation. This proposal can have serious implications for the forestry industry in Northern Ontario, which already has a struggling economy. Like many families in the north, mine relies on the forestry industry for our livelihood and any rushed changes could undermine this livelihood. The extension should be for 5 years to ensure that proper consultations can be done to work through the complex issues of sustainable forest management.
