Norbord Inc. supports the extension of the Section 55 regulation. We believe that the objectives of the Endangered Species Act can be incorporated within the Crown Forest Sustainability Act which results in balancing environmental, social and economic objectives. We support the appointment of an expert panel to provide practical advice on real solutions to the government. We recommend that the panel consist of members who are objective and can contribute positively. While we recommend a 5 year extension to complete this important endeavor we ask that adequate time be given to fully address the issues versus working towards a predetermined deadline.
