I would like to see the following included:
Process for Aboriginal individuals or recognized ( by government) First Nation Communities to be equal partners in development of this policy or any policy that effects their lands, heritage or culture. In the Spirit of Reconciliation and Cooperation
Recognition and acknowledgement of Algonquin Lands in Renfrew County and all neighbouring townships within our unceded land claim claim area
Protection of all Aboriginal sacred sites, burial grounds, artifacts
Meaning full partnerships with government recognized Aboriginal communities, Aboriginal individuals through out this province
Protection of Aboriginal culture, medicines and harvesting areas
Active joint protection policy for each township and recognized Aboriginal Community on natural resources - nesting sites, turtle protection, fish habitant, invasive species , land, trees etc
Environmental clean up of all potential contamination to our rivers , lakes streams and ponds
Strong awareness and promotion to climate change - steps we can do to protect what we have
Funding for Aboriginal Housing off reserve
Clean and safe water on all First Nations
Educational cultural funding for each township
Flood funding to all those in flood affected areas, not just permanent home owners.
We live in a high tourist area.
