It is past time to keep the commitment to protect Wolf Lake. This is the largest old growth forest in North America with trees over 300 years old. Increasingly this is within the city limits of Sudbury. It is the only area that is representative of the forests that were here before logging and mining. It is the only missing piece of land in the chiniguchi waterway provincial park. It must be protected.
The mature red pine trees in this old growth forest carry vital on the conditions they have lived through and are an important source of environmental information.
