I am in full support of the Flag Resources (1985) Limited mineral exploration permit in Mackelcan Township. It is important that this permit is granted without any unreasonable terms or conditions attached to further exploration efforts on this know mineral occurrence.
Prospecting and exploration must be allowed to continue on existing mining claims and leases in this area provided the obligations of the Mining Act are met despite strong opposition support from environmental lobbyist.
Recently, exploration in the area has uncovered previously unknown Offset Dykes and Sudbury Breccia related to the Sudbury Basin. These features are what host a good portion of the Cu-Ni-PGE deposits currently being extracted in the Sudbury area.
There is no reason why mineral exploration and enjoyment of the land by the public cannot both takes place.
