Hello,

I'm an exploration geologist and have been working for a large mining company in town for a few years now. It is important that we develop our mineral resources for the continued prosperity of our town and people. However, we do not need to develop and explore every single mineral resource. We are in unprecedented times; the world is changing fast and we are being given a window into a world we hardly recognize. Every few years we experience a year that is the hottest year on record. Our biologists are telling us that wildlife species are in mass decline. We are experiencing worsening storms and wildfires.

Protecting this area of land isn't going to fix everything, of course, but it is a step in the right direction. Protecting large sections of land is one of the best things our modern society can do to help our future generations. We should be protecting far more land than just Wolf Lake. It protects our trees, it gives our animals a refuge, and it directly improves recreational activities for Sudburians.

Sudbury is rich in mineral resources. We have a vibrant mining industry with a long prosperous future ahead. We do not need drill rigs at Wolf Lake. We need Wolf Lake.
