I have many years of experience working in and with the mineral exploration industry.
I am in support of the Flag Resources (1985) Limited being granted a mineral exploration permit to continue work on their property in the Wolf Lake area.
I believe there are sufficient environmental protection provisions already in place under the current application and permitting processes under the Mining Act and other existing Acts and Regulations.
Prospecting and mineral exploration activities have limited impact on the environment when conducted within existing rules and should be allowed to continue in this area, notwithstanding that it may be within a Forest Reserve.
Prospecting and exploration and forest protection are not mutually exclusive activities.
I believe the permit should be granted without delay and without any undue restrictions.
