I am writing to express my support for the proposal posted Section 55 Regulation for Forestry. I would like to express my concerns about the pending expiration of Section 55 Regulation that allows companies to operate under the CFSA for forest management activities. Enough research has not been done on the socio-economic impacts that this will have on Regions that rely on the forest industry. The posting proposes the formation of an expert panel to review how to incorporate ESA objectives within the CFSA. In order for this to be effective a 5 year extension would be ideal. I would urge government to implement the proposal immediately following the 45 day review period to ensure it is in place well in advance of the expiry date of the Section 55 Regulation
