Dear Sir or Madam:
I am the Cemeteries Manager for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Alexandria-Cornwall. We own and operate 22 cemeteries throughout Stormont Dundas & Glengarry in Ontario. I am writing in opposition to the proposal to allow cemeteries to be exempt from the cosmetic pesticide ban. We do not want to start spraying again.
We believe it is healthier for the environment if we do not spray and we do not want to be pressured by our patrons to spray. If the ban is removed for cemeteries, we anticipate that we will be pressured to use pesticides.
I ask you to reconsider this proposal to exempt cemeteries from cosmetic pesticide use. We do not want this exemption.
