To Whom It May Concern,

I am a licensed architect in Ontario and US jurisdictions.

Will the downloading of risk from Ontario Building Departments to Ontario Architects equate to more professional authority via statute and associated fees? Additional fees perhaps drawn from the public purse? If not, I propose the status quo be maintained. There is simply is no more room in a competitive public and private sector market to advantage the additional fees required per the proposed changes.

Were the changes to be considered in a balanced manner, it would initially be an odd co-mingling of public and private sector authority. A welcomed affect: financial disinterest from their clients' singular pursuits (yes it holds true both public and private entities are liable to overlook safety) to one which furthers Public Safety for a licensed architect and engineer to fully stand professional judgement in the Public's interest with a portion of fees drawn from the public purse. A likely dynamic: "Client A, we cannot ignore the corroded steel fire escape despite it not being in this renovation scope, in fact here is an Order to Comply for its repair.

Sincerely,
Simone Panziera
