We are greatly encouraged to see the measures that Acti. MTO needs to be more cognizant of the stated goals in Action Plan 2.0 especially at the planning stages.
11.Consider bike/pedestrian tunnels at major road crossings on a cycling route. Relatively cheap
if included in the original design.
12.A 2.0 m pave shoulder on a provincial highway, where traffic often drives at 100 km/h, is an absolute minimum. A double white line each side of a rumble strip would make a good separator. 13.Provincial, regional and municipal cycling routes should be coordinated as a coherent grid on the various cycling maps that are available.
