I strongly believe this moratorium on water taking should be extended. There need to be more studies done on the longterm impacts of water taking by Nestle, both on the environment and urban growth, and the company needs to address its lack of corporate honesty/responsibility, which is evident in its careless disregard for the environment. Besides the enormous environmental and human cost associated with the almost free removal of natural groundwater by and for Nestle, the company is grossly negligent in its contribution, but not is admittance, to the plastic contamination of the planet through the billions of disposable (but not compostable) water bottles that it has released into the marketplace. Nestle's plastic pollution, which is of nightmare proportions, is reason enough to extend the moratorium. Until the company can take responsibility and find alternatives to hurting the planet with its combined outcomes of plastic pollution and water depletion, ii should not be allowed further permits.
