A few years ago when attending an information session with regard to Earthworks activities I asked how the MNR would proceed if it seemed the soil being dumped was contaminated. They tersely replied that they have techniques to deal with this But it seems they do not, and there has been serious contamination as a result. Therefore it is imperative that soil be tested at the source and certainly not dumped on the Oak Ridges Moraine where it will poison the aquifers that are so vital to this highly populated part of Ontario.
