I am firmly against the proposed spring bear hunt. If the bear population needs to be culled because of a proven and overbearing increase in the numbers, that's one thing, but I don't believe the need has been proven to justify such a hunt. I am heartbroken that numerous cubs will needlessly starve to death under this plan. We need to protect our wildlife, not kill it for sport.
