As a conservation biologist working on Ontario for the past twenty years I am dismayed at the proposal by the Province to extend the leases yet again in Rondeau Provincial Park, especially considering that ecological integrity is the mandate for the park system. This park is a biodiversity gem, with many rare ecosystems and species at risk. It's current small size and isolation already puts the long-term survival of these in jeapardy. The removal of the cottages, which the cottagers have expected to happen for years, should be the priority.
