I would like to see as much emphasis as possible on developing renewable energy sources for Ontario's energy needs. I understand that the province is producing a surplus right now, but that is due to the operation of nuclear power plants in need of very costly refurbishment! The money earmarked for upgrades and repairs to the Darlington plant would be better redirected to wind and solar projects, hydroelectric and waste project energy. This would demonstrate the kind of long-term planning and foresight that is essential in order to meet the global threat of climate change--and Canada's environmental commitments to the international community.
