As a resident who cares strongly about the quality of life in our area I strongly object to the proposed Hallman Pit! We have no need for the aggregate at this time. Operation of the pit will severely impact local people, especially children, with the hundreds of trucks, (and their fumes) impacting the peace of mind, noise and safety level, and eventually the condition of the roads themselves. And most importantly, it makes absolutely no sense to have a gravel pit in a Source Water Protection Area!!! What are we Protecting??? We need clean water to live. Contamination happens, and then we can't go back!

This pit would benefit one man, and one company while negatively affect - on an ongoing basis -the lives of hundreds of residents who live in or pass through the truck route and all the area to be impacted directly and indirectly by this needless pit! And this negative impact would rise exponentially when contamination (that can't help but happen with changing weather, and human error among other factors as ever-present dangers).

What about the Climate Emergency declared by Wilmot Township council? Is this pit not the very type of action it was put in place to prevent?

Please, in the name of the quality of life of our area, and in the name of common sense, do NOT approve the Hallman Pit!
