Although nuclear power can be seen as clean due to the fact that it does not create air pollution, it has the potential to pollute air, water and soil. The possibility of exposure to nuclear radiation fallout is a real day to day reality. One error or malfunction can destroy our province and country. Storage of nuclear waste is also a real issue as it continues to be radioactive for very long periods of time as it cannot be disposed of. Let's move into the 21st century with clean renewable energy for all. It would be more cost effective to subsidize renewable energy in the long run when it is being phased in rather than to refurbish nuclear power plants that cost billions of dollars to operate and maintain. Long term visions need to be adopted by government.
