Any policy related to resource use needs to be consulted on by Indigenous peoples. This is especially true for the bear hunt, which is a culturally important species. There is no scientific evidence to support the reopening of the bear hunt but there is evidence to keep it closed. The government should listen to the voices of scientists and Indigenous peoples and keep the bear hunt closed.
