Dear Mr. Yurek,

We strongly support the Ontario government’s efforts to develop a Water Quantity Management Program. We live in Centre Wellington and water is a huge issue here in light of the increased population and economic growth that is projected over the next few decades. The prioritizing of water use, municipality consent for water taking, and transparent, scientific monitoring of water tables and watersheds are key parts of the Program that will go a long way to ensure the sustainability of water for our community. We as citizens need to know the facts, and we need to be involved in the decisions for water taking in our community. We oppose corporations profiting from selling our water and the proliferation of plastic water bottles that impact our environment in such a negative way. We hope that the water in Centre Wellington and all over Ontario and Canada will be managed in a way to ensure that water is available for generations to come. We believe access to water is a fundamental right for all citizens and should be enshrined in Canada’s Constitution.
