Our access to drinking water, no matter who we are, or what creature we are, and where we live in this world, is a privilege and not a right. As such, and especially in what should be a forward-thinking area of this world, I expect our laws to protect us and our water supply. That is, to not give in to business enterprises to profit from its current availability. Many of these companies are nothing more than manufacturers of plastic containers that will stay or float around for thousands of years. Perhaps we do have plenty of potable water to flow around ... until we don't. The recent drought situations have been alarming and we need to think carefully about who can or cannot take water from our individual communities' resources. Restrictions and conditions for the province to suspend or terminate water-taking contracts during any and all unstable times need to be in place and strictly enforced. Water is our most precious resource and I wish many others would respect it as much as my family and I do, every day. "Open for Business" does not mean to open the taps and the floodgates for water-bottling and waste. Thank you for your consideration, which will impact the rest of our lives and the legacy that we will leave for future generations.
