Our household welcomes the Ministry's new policy that potential host communities must first support any new or expanded water bottling operations within it's boundaries, before such initiatives can go ahead.
Our community of Centre Wellington has made it abundantly clear, that it is not a willing host to any new water extraction for commercial purposes, on the site along Middlebrook Road, just outside Elora; whether owned by Nestle or any other water bottling firm.
We certainly agree with this position, for the many reasons which have been clearly and passionately stated by 'Save Our Water' and others.
In this year of 2020, we are only too aware that our most precious resource, water, should not be treated as a mere commodity to be bottled and sold - but must be preserved for the public good.
