My wife is a licensed general falconer and I’ve taken an interest over the past five years myself. As an avid moose and deer hunter I understand the importance of conservation and collecting field data. I think that the OHC have done an amazing job with this task, especially with monitoring goshawks. I believe it’s a great start to allow the wild take of 5 Northern goshawks and would love to see that number increase as more data is collected. By allowing all licensed Ontario falconers the chance at a wild take permit for the other species vs utilizing a lottery system the number of first year birds who will have a better chance at survival and in the future become breeding stock is increased. Thank you for this proposal.
