As a falconer, Fish & Wildlife Technologist, and someone who has been involved in both OHC and Project Goshawk events, I am ecstatic to hear of the potential expansion of wild take regulations in Ontario. The MNRF has taken a huge step towards rewarding the tireless conservation efforts of falconers in the province, by making the decision to change the outdated legislature regarding the taking of wild birds for falconry purposes. This sport has been one of the leading contributors to raptor conservation on the planet, and with the new proposal, will continue to assist in enhancing our populations of wild raptors. Looking forward to seeing these changes in action.
