What an exciting proposal. This will only benefit wild birds in Ontario as falconry has already been proven to be a no impact sport to wildlife. As a veterinary technician I'm eager to see what experienced falconers can learn from hands on experience with wild northern goshawks. There will be things we can learn and apply to wildlife rehabilitation, conservation and future propagation projects if ever necessary. I have seen several wild birds and nests over the past few years and I know surveys have shown their numbers to be good so why not use this opportunity to learn more about wild goshawk populations!
