I am totally opposed to a the Flag resources application for a mineral resources exploration permit in the Wolf Lake old growth forest area. At a time when it is clearly so important to establish a much better network of protected areas to maintain the ecological integrity of the this province and to provide much more accessible outdoor recreation opportunities for Ontarians who have suffered through this long COVID-19 lockdown and discovered how critical it is to have places to get out into nature - it is shameful to even consider such a proposal. What is needed is for the province to follow through with it's previous commitments and fully establish and protect the critical pieces required for the Chiniguchi waterway provincial park. Furthermore after seeing the problems highlighted during this past year it is also nothing less than astonishing that there has been inadequate consultation with local indigenous people about the future of this unique and special region and the proposals for its degradation.
