While resource extraction is important to local and provincial economies it should be noted that once a place like this is disturbed it cannot be replaced. The area around Wolf lake is an exceptionally beautiful place and is enjoyed by many as a place to reconnect with nature and the landscape we call home. Drilling and stripping the land would be a complete travesty to the notion of responsible resource extraction. Drilling in places with low ecological, cultural or societal value should be encouraged given the proper research has been completed to ensure that the disturbance is to the net benefit of Ontarians. In this case I have a hard time understanding how it could be - Wolf Lake is a gem and it's landscape is unique to the surrounding area. It would be a spectacular failure of this government to allow the destruction of a place valued by so many in the interests of just a few who currently own the drilling rights to this land. It is time to give up the back and forth and preserve wolf lake for generations to come. It would be an absolute tragedy to loose such a spectacular area forever.
